West Cork Craft and Design Guild - A guide to some of Ireland's finest craftwork.

Sally Smart

Brought up in Cornwall, Sally took a degree in Art at Brighton before travelling extensively in Australia. For five years, she lived in the bush, studying native medicine, nature, colour and the power of healing energy that animals and plants possess.

She has spent the last sixteen years working as an artist, healer and teacher, undertaking commission work, craft shows, exhibitions and healing shows. She moved to Ireland in 1998, and has continued to exhibit her work, to teach, and to practise as a homoeopath and native-medicine healer.

The clothes and fabrics use specially blended colours for healing and energy. All the work is hand-painted, hand-printed or batik, and made with time and love. Sally works with silk, rich cottons and muslin, and has developed a range of chamois leather and buckskin clothes - very soft and easy to wear. Her designs can be plain and simple or decorative. Visitors welcome by appointment.
